Over the past 10 years I have backpacked around Europe at the age of 47, visited Canada, travelled 300 000+kms around Southern Africa, moved 7 times in 6 years and lived in a tent for 4 months. During this time I also trained as a Western Cape Tourist Guide and bought a bright green bus because I liked the colour. It has been a period of immense emotional change and I decide to document these travels and the lessons I have learned along the way.

Deciding What To Pack
I do not travel light. Yet whatever I take I have to carry on my back. Hmmmm. You read about these folk who take 2 sets of underwear, 2 pairs of socks, a pair of jeans a few T-shirts and a jacket. THAT IS SO NOT ME!
